Surgical Shadowing Program

Requirements:

Be an active member in AED for at least 2 semesters, or a gold member for one semester (must be active the semester before the semester you plan to shadow)
Be a sophomore or above at UW Madison

VP will be checking AED status and sending the list of approved applicants to UW Health through the form.
If you do not notify VP of your intent to apply, your application will not be considered.

How to get started

All interested OR observers must complete an Observer Application which will be used to confirm eligibility requirements are met and to determine student interests and availability (Application and up to date information can be found on Surgical Shadowing website)
Prior to starting the application, all OR shadowing applicants are required to complete the Mandatory OR Training and submit a certificate of completion with application
- Self-enroll in this Canvas course (will be hyperlinked)
Information requested in the application: Resume/CV, Cover Letter indicating interest in the surgical field and shadowing, GPA, medically relevant coursework taken, grade level, optional demographic information
Keep an eye out for surgical shadowing application info session on event spreadsheet
Deadline for upcoming surgical shadowing cohort application: TBD
