Meet the Executive Board
Hey AED! Meet for coffee (or ice cream, lunch, or just to chat!) with any officer to have an informal advising session and have all your questions about being a pre-health student answered! If you don’t have specific questions but just want to chat, that’s okay too–we are always looking to take a break from studying and are a great resource for you! Feel free to email any officer on the AED board to schedule a time that works for you! Coffee breaks are worth +2 points.

President
Evan Schneider
Hey AED! My name is Evan Schneider and I’m beyond excited to serve as our President this year. I’m going into my fifth year as a Civil Engineering undergrad with a certificate in Biology in Engineering on the pre-med track. I’ve been involved in AED for the past three years and was our Medical Mission Trip Chair last year. Outside of AED, I love getting involved in some other great student orgs on campus, and have been the Vice President of Recruitment for Wisconsin Engineering Student Council, Program Director for ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers), and an undergraduate teaching assistant for an intro-level engineering course for the past four years. I also work in the Primary Care & Gynecology units at UHS as a student health technician and at the Wisconsin Institute for Sleep and Consciousness through UWSMPH as a research assistant. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school and am especially interested in Psychiatry! When I’m not studying or working, I love kayaking, hiking, or hammocking along the Lakeshore Path. I’d love to be a resource for you all, so please feel free to reach out anytime to talk about school, life, or just anything at all! Looking forward to a great year!

Vice President
Ilia Mikhailenko
Hi! I’m Ilia Mikhailenko, a junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering and I’m thrilled to be serving as your Vice President! I got involved with AED soon after arriving on campus and have been involved ever since. Last year, I was a member of the Professional Development Committee and served as Interim PD Chair during the spring semester. Outside of AED, I’m a research assistant in the Microsurgery and Regenerative Medicine Lab as well as a licensed EMT. On campus, I’m also involved in the Biomedical Engineering Society and previously served as its Campus Involvement Chair. When I’m not busy with school, you’ll likely find me lifting at the gym, competing with the UW Club Tennis Team, or trying to fix my broken golf swing. I'm excited to help support your professional goals and make this a meaningful year for everyone in AED. Please feel free to reach out anytime — I look forward to connecting with you all!
