Hi everyone! My name is Genevieve Simmons, and I'm a fourth-year pre-medical student majoring in Biology and pursuing a Certificate in Business. I'm so excited to serve as AED Co-President for the 2026-2027 school year! I’ve been involved in AED since my freshman year and am so fortunate for all of the opportunities this organization has provided me. Outside of AED, I work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) both here in Madison and in my hometown in New Jersey. I'm also a research student at the Wisconsin Institute of Medical Research (WIMR), where I'm involved in both the Musculoskeletal Biology and Regenerative Medicine Lab and the Microsurgery and Regenerative Medicine Lab. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing the piano, and ice skating! I can't wait to work with you all again this year, and please don't hesitate to reach out!

My name is Rian Engeldinger and I am a senior majoring in Neurobiology with certificates in Global Health and Health Policy. I have been involved in AED since my freshman year and have previously served as the Professional Development Chair. I am so excited to be co-president this year and answer any questions you may have! Outside of AED, I am an EMT at the Mt. Horeb Fire Department and am the FDMH liaison for the Center for Pre-Health Advising EMT Experience Program. I also do work as an undergraduate research assistant for the Deming Lab in the McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, a Resource Navigator for the Center for Patient Partnerships, and a WISCIENCE STEM Engagement Peer Leader. In my free time, I love to sing in the UW Treble Choir, play intramural sports, run by the lake, and listen to live music. I'm looking forward to beginning this year with you all! Hi! I’m Morgan Deger, and I’m excited to serve as this year’s Vice President. I am a junior studying Molecular and Cellular Biology on the pre-medicine track while pursuing certificates in Business and Art. I joined AED during my freshman year and previously served on the Social Committee. Since then, AED has become an integral part of my college experience. Outside of AED, I conduct undergraduate research in the RENEW Lab at the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research, where we focus on innovative technologies to promote burn and wound healing. I also volunteer at the UW Health Burn Unit, which allows me to see the real-world impact of the research I am passionate about. In addition, I volunteer with Food For Thought, serve as a licensed EMT at my hometown fire department, and work an ER Tech at my local emergency room. Outside of academics and healthcare, you’ll see me competing on UW’s triathlon team, getting coffee with friends, bartending, and hammocking in lakeshore! I am incredibly grateful for everything AED has contributed to my undergraduate journey, and I’m looking forward to giving back by supporting our members this year. Hey! My name is Nusaybah Quadri, and I am a senior at UW-Madison. I am a Pre-PT student currently studying Global Health with a certificate in Entrepreneurship. This past semester I had the opportunity to study abroad in Rome which was a life changing experience. I have been an actively involved member of AED since my freshman year and was on the PR chair this past year.  AED has given me so many opportunities to explore my options and meet new, like-minded people. I have been currently helping at the UW East Madison Hospital Sports Rehab Center, and working at Illinois Bone And Joint Institute as a Rehab Technician. Another leadership position that I hold on campus is that I am the Communication Coordinator for PT-club I also thoroughly enjoy basketball, live music, trying new coffee places, and exploring new cities. Hi! My name is Lexi Marshall and I am a junior studying Global Health with a certificate in consulting. I have been a part of AED since my freshman year and this past year I served on the A&A committee. Outside of AED, I am an undergraduate researcher at the Lamming Lab which studies the molecular physiology of aging. I volunteered at the hospital in the emergency department. I also work as an EMT back home in New York. In my free time I enjoy cooking/baking, hiking and spending time with friends. I am excited to serve as the Historian and I look forward to working with everyone!

Hi everyone! My name is Mara Van Dyke and I’m a junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering with certificates in Global Health and Biology in Engineering. I have been involved with AED since my freshman year and served on the Professional Development Committee this past year. AED has connected me with so many other pre-meds and useful resources, so I am super excited to be Treasurer this upcoming year! Outside of AED, I volunteer at the UW Health Hospital, serve as Outreach Coordinator for Engineers Without Borders, and am involved in research. Hey AED! My name is Matthew Ketterhagen and I am a sophomore majoring in Nursing and Global Health on the pre-med track. I have been involved with AED since I started at UW-Madison last fall. I am super excited to take on the role as the PD Chair for the org. Outside of AED I work as an ER Tech at a local hospital as well as a tech on the inpatient MSP/ICU floor. This year I am looking forward to researching data analytics with Dr. Gorski at the University PEDS emergency room. In my free time I love to travel, go to concerts, and go on random side quests. Hi! My name is Olivia Devereaux, and I am a sophomore majoring in Neurobiology. I have been involved in AED since the start of my freshman year, serving on the social committee. I am super excited to serve as your Social Chair for the 2026–2027 school year! AED has so much to offer and is a great way to meet more students with similar goals. The organization has wonderful opportunities and experiences! Outside of AED, I am involved in several other organizations on campus, including, Badgers for IBD serving as social media chair, Global Medical Brigades, and APAA. I am a current undergraduate research assistant in the Paulsen Lab at the UWSMPH Department of Neurology, which is focused on CADASIL research, which is a rare inherited neurological disease. I also work as a CNA at a hometown hospital on an oncology/medical floor. In my free time, I enjoy working out, exploring new places in Madison, traveling, concerts and spending time with my friends. Hi! My name is Caroline Brennan and I am a senior majoring in Neurobiology and French. I’m also doing a certificate in Art History. For extracurriculars, I have worked at the Chapman Neuroscience Lab, volunteered as a medical assistant with Our Lady of Hope Clinic, and some clubs I am in are a girls workout club and Movement for Every Body. In my free time, I like to ski, run, bike, cook and bake, and paint! I have been involved in AED since my freshman year and am excited to be A&A chair again this year!

I have been an active member of AED since my freshman year and have also served on the Service Committee. Outside of AED, I am currently working toward my EMT certification and volunteer at my hometown hospital. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, going to the lake, baking, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends! Hi everyone! My name is Rylee Wessley, and I am a junior majoring in Global health with certificates in Spanish and health policy. I have been involved with AED since the beginning of my freshman year and I am excited to serve as one of the medical mission trip chairs. I recently traveled to Peru for the mission trip this year and it was such a life changing experience and it deepened my passion for medicine. On campus I am also involved in Optima Dance and the Gallagher lab that focuses in REM sleep behavior disorder and Parkinson’s disease. I currently am a EMT for Superior Ambulance and UHS. I hope to one day be a critical care or infectious disease physician. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve on the AED executive board this year!

Hi everyone!  My name is Megan Hughes and I am a junior majoring in Neurobiology with certificates in global health and health policy. I have been an active member of AED since my freshman year, and served on the medical mission trip committee my sophomore year. After my freshman year I went on the trip to Costa Rica, and I also attended the most recent trip to Peru. I am really excited to work with Rylee to plan another trip this upcoming year!  Outside of AED I also serve on the executive board for my sorority, I volunteer in the pediatric oncology unit at UW, and I work at the Nitty Gritty as a server.
